THIORIDAZINE

Due to the risk of significant, potentially life-threatening, proarrhythmic effects with thioridazine treatment, thioridazine should be used only in patients who have failed to respond adequately to treatment with appropriate courses of other antipsychotic drugs.

Since thioridazine HCl is associated with a dose-related prolongation of the QTc interval, which is a potentially life-threatening event, its use should be reserved for schizophrenic patients who fail to respond adequately to treatment with other antipsychotic drugs.

Side effects of Thioridazine (Mellaril, Mellaril-S) :

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing.

Stop using thioridazine and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as: dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeat;

TRIFLUOPERAZINE

La trifluopérazine (Terfluzine) est un antipsychotique typique de la classe des phénothiazines. Les phénothiazines sont un groupe de dérivés de la phénothiazine. Ils constituent la plus grande des cinq classes principales de médicaments antipsychotiques. Bien que ces médicaments soient généralement efficaces, on observe souvent des effets secondaires réversibles à l'arrêt du traitement, parmi lesquels des troubles extra-pyramidaux et de la sédation (en particulier dans les premières phases du traitement). 

Quelques décès sont survenus de façon soudaine chez des utilisateurs de la trifluopérazine; les personnes ainsi touchées démontraient une lésion au coeur. http://www.web-docteur.com/m120.htm
